When God Makes No Sense by Dr. Larry Crabb

Dr Crabb takes his readers on a journey through how we, as Christians, can react when God makes no sense. He uses examples from the Bible (Jonah, Saul/Paul and Habakkuk) to demonstrate each of the three ways we can react. He then spends the rest of the book talking about how we can learn to tremble and trust. He wrote on page 100, “Whatever trembling Paul experienced somehow moved him toward and unshakable confidence in God’s goodness.” He does a great job throughout the book giving modern day examples of experiences we may not understand, but have to trust in God. The book was very honest and well written. He concludes the book by saying, “Trembling is inevitable on the road we must walk if we are to trust that the God whose ways make no sense is always doing us good” (pg. 229).

I recommend this book to anyone that has questions about why God “allows” things to happen. Also to anyone who wants to see how God’s plan can make some sense even if it makes no sense at the time.
